Jan’s first big success as the Inner Coach of Barbershop was in 2007 with the Lions Gate Chorus, a 100-voiced Sweet Adeline International chorus based in Vancouver, B.C., Canada. Ranked 12^th in the world, they embarked on a holistic inner coaching program before the International chorus competition and by working with Jan to develop mindset mastery over a period of several months, they transformed their thinking, belief and confidence levels. The chorus’ high-octane, grounded energy created an unforgettable onstage performance that had audience and judges alike screaming with approval and vaulted them up in the rankings to emerge as the new 3^rd place International Bronze Medalists.  Jan’s inner mastery programs have greatly contributed to Lions Gate Chorus’ continued success with International placements in the Top 5 ever since that exciting 3rd place finish in 2007.  In 2023, with a theme of BELIEVE – Lions Gate Chorus won the Gold Medal, Most Entertaining Chorus award, and the first-ever in history judge score of a perfect 100 for their performance Package (of which Jan was Artistic Director). 

Since 2007, Jan has expanded the breadth of her inner mastery coaching programs that focus on the “Being” of Barbershop to successfully coach dozens of choruses of different sizes and levels worldwide and run powerful music and management leadership retreats and Regional Education events. She has transformed chorus directors through individual one-on-one coaching in her innovative “Coach on Call” program and enrolled thousands of singers in personal programs of individual mastery. 

As well, Jan is an accomplished performance coach and artistic director of the iconic Lions Gate Chorus performance packages – The Urban Jungle, The Grinch Who Stole Contest, The Impossible Dream – and most recently, their record-breaking Gold Medal package, The Nightmare Before Contest.
